Idaho residents can register to vote online, by mail, or in person. Idaho also offers same-day voter registration at polling places on Election Day.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Be a U.S. citizen.
- Be a resident of Idaho and the county where you are registering for at least 30 days before Election Day.
- Be at least 18 years old by Election Day.
- Not be convicted of a felony, or have your civil rights restored if convicted.
Registration Methods:
- Online Registration:
- Register online through the Idaho Voter Registration System.
- You will need a valid Idaho driver’s license or state ID to complete the online registration.
- By Mail:
- Download and complete the Idaho Voter Registration Form.
- Mail the form to your local county clerk’s office. County clerk addresses are available on the Idaho Votes website.
- In Person:
- Register in person at your local county clerk’s office or at the DMV when you apply for a driver’s license or state ID.
- Idaho offers same-day voter registration at polling places on Election Day, allowing you to register and vote on the spot.
Registration Deadline:
- The deadline to register online or by mail is 25 days before Election Day.
- If you miss the deadline, you can still register in person at the polling place on Election Day with proof of residency.
Confirm Your Registration:
- After registering, you can confirm your voter registration status using the Voter Record Search Tool on the Idaho Votes website.
