Massachusetts residents can register to vote online, by mail, or in person. The state also allows same-day voter registration at polling places on Election Day.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Be a U.S. citizen.
- Be a resident of Massachusetts.
- Be at least 18 years old by Election Day (you can pre-register at 16, but must be 18 to vote).
- Not be incarcerated due to a felony conviction.
Registration Methods:
- Online Registration:
- Register online using the Massachusetts Online Voter Registration System.
- You’ll need a valid Massachusetts driver’s license or state ID.
- By Mail:
- Download and complete the Massachusetts Voter Registration Form.
- Mail the form to your local election office. You can find the addresses on the Massachusetts Elections Division website.
- In Person:
- You can register in person at your local election office or during voter registration drives.
- Same-day voter registration is available at polling places on Election Day. Bring proof of identification and residency to register and vote.
Registration Deadline:
- The deadline to register online or by mail is 10 days before Election Day.
- Same-day voter registration is allowed at polling locations on Election Day with valid identification.
