Minnesota residents can register to vote online, by mail, or in person. The state also allows same-day voter registration on Election Day.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Be a U.S. citizen.
- Be a resident of Minnesota for at least 20 days before the election.
- Be at least 18 years old by Election Day.
- Not be currently incarcerated for a felony conviction.
Registration Methods:
- Online Registration:
- Register online through the Minnesota Voter Registration Portal.
- You will need a Minnesota driver’s license, state ID, or the last four digits of your Social Security number.
- By Mail:
- Complete the Minnesota Voter Registration Application.
- Mail the form to your county elections office. You can find the mailing addresses on the Minnesota Secretary of State’s website.
- In Person:
- You can register in person at your county elections office, DMV, or during voter registration drives.
- Same-day voter registration is available at your polling place on Election Day with proof of identity and residency.
Registration Deadline:
- The deadline to register online or by mail is 21 days before Election Day.
- Same-day voter registration is allowed at polling places on Election Day with appropriate documentation.
