Mississippi residents can register to vote by mail or in person, but the state does not currently offer online voter registration. Mississippi does not have same-day voter registration, so be sure to register before the deadline.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Be a U.S. citizen.
- Be a resident of Mississippi.
- Be at least 18 years old by Election Day.
- Not be convicted of certain disqualifying crimes (e.g., murder, bribery, theft), unless voting rights have been restored.
Registration Methods:
- By Mail:
- Complete the Mississippi Voter Registration Application.
- Mail the form to your county circuit clerk’s office. You can find contact information for your local clerk on the Mississippi Secretary of State’s website.
- In Person:
- Register in person at your county circuit clerk’s office or during voter registration drives held by local organizations.
- You can also register at the DMV when applying for or renewing a driver’s license.
Registration Deadline:
- The deadline to register is 30 days before Election Day. Make sure your registration form is either postmarked or submitted to the clerk’s office by this date.
