New Hampshire residents can register to vote by mail or in person, but the state does not currently offer online voter registration. New Hampshire also allows same-day voter registration at polling places on Election Day.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Be a U.S. citizen.
- Be a resident of New Hampshire.
- Be at least 18 years old by Election Day.
- Not be convicted of a felony unless voting rights have been restored.
- Not be declared mentally incompetent by a court.
Registration Methods:
- By Mail:
- Complete the New Hampshire Voter Registration Application.
- Mail or deliver the completed form to your town or city clerk’s office. You can find contact information for your local office on the New Hampshire Secretary of State’s website.
- In Person:
- Register in person at your town or city clerk’s office, or at the polls on Election Day.
- Same-day voter registration is available at polling places on Election Day with proper identification and proof of residency.
Registration Deadline:
- The deadline to register by mail or in person (prior to Election Day) is 6 to 13 days before Election Day, depending on your local town or city’s rules.
- Same-day voter registration is available at the polls on Election Day.
